Beading in Paradise

About Us

 

Jean Disrud and Jenni Gerstle were both bead artists and beading teachers when they met in Key West.  Jenni is a snow bird and winters down there and Jean lives there year round. They met 13 years ago when some friends of Jenni’s saw Jean’s work and thought that they had something in common. They met and immediately became friends. It has been a dream of Jean’s to run a Retreat in Key West and this year when Jenni took a class from Marjorie Garcia Barnes the seed for the Retreat was planted.  Marjorie agreed to come and teach and then recommended Kim Stathis. The stars then aligned and Kate McKinnon agreed to come and teach too!

 

Jenni and Jean soon realized that they needed help with organizing the Retreat itself and hired Loretta Maria Adkins of Clean Getaway Travel to be the Event Coordinator to take care of finding a great hotel, travel plans, and other non-beady details.

 

We hope that the beaders who join us for this Retreat will enjoy the experience so much that we can make this an annual event.
